Lice

Hello, young adventurers! Today, we’re zooming in on a tiny creature you might have heard of before—lice! Lice are super small insects that live on humans and animals. Don’t worry, they can’t jump or fly; they just like to crawl around.

These little critters are experts at hide and seek, especially in hair, where they’re hard to see. Lice feed on tiny amounts of blood from the scalp, but the good news is, they aren’t dangerous—just a bit annoying!

Did you know that lice have been living with humans for thousands of years? Scientists have even found lice on Egyptian mummies! That’s right, even pharaohs had to deal with them.

Another cool fact is that lice can only live on humans, so your pets can’t catch them from you or give them to you. Each type of lice prefers its own special host. For example, the ones that like living in human hair wouldn’t want to live anywhere else!

So, while lice might make you itch, they’re also fascinating little survivors, having been around for so long. They remind us of how all creatures, big and small, find ways to live in this big world!
